Jessica Zavala has a diverse background in recruiting experiences from Fortune 500s to boutique agencies. She has a passion for executive search and has experience providing leadership on highly nuanced, hard-to-fill positions. Jessica’s past assignments include filling roles for: Directors of Programs, Communications, Development, Grants, & Philanthropy; Executive Directors; COOs, CFOs, and CHROs. Her sector experience spans non-profits, foundations, NGOs, healthcare, higher education, engineering, and tech. Before joining S&C, she worked with Microsoft’s Diversity and Inclusion team to close the gender gap in the engineering field and promote inclusion among underrepresented communities in the technical sector by managing two programs called Codess and TechRoots. Jessica is fueled by her ambition to make a difference and impact. She knows that strategic hiring decisions not only affect the organization, but also the communities they serve. Jessica believes in strategic hiring through organizational review, extensive talent landscaping, and careful evaluation of candidates.

Jessica sings Opera in her spare time and received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in vocal performance from the University of Illinois and Louisiana State University. She is a Chicago native but has lived in New Orleans, Seattle, and San Diego.
