Rebecca Chanis

Rebecca Chanis offers Schaffer&Combs a technical background in economic development and public health, with a strong foundation in community-based participatory research and program design. Rebecca earned a B.A. in English Literature from Washington University in St. Louis, and shortly after joined the Peace Corps in Botswana. She served for two years as a health educator at a rural primary school, and then extended her service for another year to act as a coordinator for an HIV/AIDS prevention program. Currently, Rebecca is a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University, pursuing an MA in International Economics and International Development, and an MS in Public Health.

Her passions are understanding people, examining human relationships, and listening to stories, all with the goal of furthering individual wellbeing. Her work at S&C is an avenue for these interests. Her long-term ambition is to transition into healthcare consulting, and work on projects that combine the above with sustainable financing and efficient service delivery.
