Ben brings a diverse multi-sector background in public affairs, arts administration, and nonprofit management to Schaffer&Combs. Ben holds a B.A. in Sociology from Loyola Marymount University, a Master of Public Affairs degree from the University of San Francisco and is an alumnus of the AmeriCorps program Public Allies and the Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs. Previous to Schaffer&Combs, Ben managed community relations and engagement initiatives for the San Francisco Symphony and was also the Deputy Director of FilAm ARTS, a multidisciplinary arts organization in Los Angeles.
Having started his career as a community organizer, Ben sees the inherent value in the solutions that S&C provides for organizations and the communities they serve.

Ben is a Bay Area native but has also lived in Honolulu, Los Angeles, and Pittsburgh (and thinks there’s no place better than home). While not at S&C, Ben enjoys hiking, traveling and binge watching bad television on Netflix.
