Barry Shulman

Barry has been conducting executive search and management consulting projects, globally, for three decades. As Managing Director, Enterprise Search, Barry’s extensive executive search expertise serves S&C clients across all industries – technology, finance, manufacturing, healthcare, CPGs, real estate, energy, food/agriculture – with a hands-on, practical, analytic, strategic and experience based approach. Barry has worked with and helped build multiple emerging growth firms, placed entire management teams in abrupt growth companies and recruited highly specialized candidates for many complex organizations, and he has placed every executive function in the C-suite through VP and director levels. Barry counsels clients and candidates on industry trends, speaks at industry functions and contributes to various trade and business publications on recruitment of corporate relations and  integrated marketing staff, retention and resource management. Prior to establishing Shulman Associates in 1990 he learned the art of executive search working with the inimitable Goldman Group, at the time the country’s largest and leading corporate relations executive search firm headquartered on Madison Avenue.

A native Philadelphian by way of New York, Barry arrived in San Francisco February 1, 1990 and now considers himself a native in spite of his accent. He relishes time outdoors, on both land and water, and indulging in the Bay Area’s amazing culinary offerings up and down the coast. Barry has worked for many years advocating for orphans in developing countries, works as a hospice volunteer, is trained in Reiki and the energetic healing arts, and is a trained life coach offering short-track career coaching to individuals committed to making significant changes in their careers and lives. While he’s traveled through 30 countries with his family, he’s just getting started. Barry earned a B.A. from Temple University in Philadelphia.
